The Wolfson/Linacre composite four set out once more in search of glory (and Summer pots). Erich (the South African) had returned to S.A. and had been replaced by Mark “many points, light body’ Payton. To the delight of Carsten, Mark sat in the bow seat. We entered the S3 coxed fours category and managed to scrape our way through the first heat by beating Staines RC (by a canvas) and Wallingford RC. Four hours later, we were in the final against Midland Bank and Henley RC. We had another good start and managed to hold Henley RC off, finally winning by three quarters of a length, although Mr WD-40 thought it was less! Hence another pot, a rowing point and now we row at S2. Richard Smith.
Congratulations to the crew from WCBC!
