Wolfson College Boat Club, in conjunction with Epione Medical Services (the same friendly faces who provide first aid at OURCs events) will be holding a first aid course at Wolfson College on Sunday 15 March (one week after Torpids). The cost of the course will vary significantly depending on your student category, and will be shown in the form below when you press the ‘Continue’ button.
We are planning an exciting day for you. Our first aid instructors will cover treatment of the unconscious adult, CPR, blood loss and shock, hypo- and hyperthermia, drowning, head and neck injuries, fractures, wound care, severe allergic reactions, and possibly a brief overview of other issues, such as asthma, seizures, and diabetes.
Additionally, a physio from Oxford Sports Physio will hold a brief talk and lengthy Q&A session for you to ask any questions you have about avoiding injury in sport (rowing or otherwise).
We intend to have a great atmosphere, with food available throughout the day. The course involves lots of interaction, including practicing first aid manoeuvres on mannequins and each other. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail John McManigle, who is organising the course.
